Pladis launches Jacob’s Mini Cheddars Sticks £1 PMP

PMPs drive 75% of convenience impulse sales despite only being 12% of products

Pladis is bolstering its £1 price-marked pack (PMP) range with the addition of Jacob’s Mini Cheddars Sticks in this format.

Available now to convenience and wholesale, the range’s Grilled Cheddar & Sizzling Steak variety joins an existing lineup of PMPs worth £4.8m.

The range currently includes Original, Smoky BBQ, Red Leicester, Nacho Cheese & Jalapeno and Ploughman’s Cheshire Cheese Mini Cheddars, alongside the recently launched Mini Cheddars Crunchlets.

“Not only is Jacob’s Mini Cheddars a shopping basket staple for over a third of Brits (38%), but it’s also one of our most exciting success stories – having grown by 23% to reach its biggest retail sales value to date of £89.7M,” said Christopher Owen, marketing controller at Pladis UK&I.

Launched in January 2021, the Mini Cheddars Sticks range is now worth £5.1m, according to the supplier.

“This reflects the important role we know PMPs play in driving impulse sales in the convenience channel,” added Owen. “In fact, products in this format already represent a mammoth three-quarters of sales in the channel, despite only accounting for 12% of SKUs.”

The new PMP’s packaging will be recyclable through Pladis’ partnership with Terracycle.
