EXCLUSIVE: Select & Save stores to get new branding and budget own-label range

Select & Save will 'rollout' the new fascia across its estate, according to the firm's managing director

Symbol group Select & Save has announced a rebrand to be applied to all partnered stores, with mock shopfronts showing a premium green, pink and white colour scheme.

A message from managing director Kam Sanghera to partnered shop owners on 23 April, seen by Better Retailing, revealed: “We’re investing in our new visual identity and that will be rolled out across the group.”

The firm also announced its stores will soon have access to a new ‘select and save’ branded own-label range, benefiting from low prices on staples such as bread (79p), eggs, (£1.49), Bacon 300g (1.99), chips 750g (£1.09) and frozen pizza 386g (£1.59).

Online investment

Sanghera added: “We’re also investing in our online platforms, websites and marketing collateral… This will help our stores stand out from the competition and increase presence and sales across the board with new innovations.’

The company is also understood to be re-negotiating terms of its supply agreement. Its five year deal with Bestway was due to come to an end in 2023, and comes after Select & Save quietly purchased the trademarks to the former Morrisons convenience store chain ‘My local’.

Select & Save concluded their update to stores by stating: “I’d like to thank you all for your commitment and patience. We’re proudly the largest independent in a crucial, but volatile industry, and the tactical investments that we’re making now are part of our wider strategy of future-proofing our business and yours.”

Select & Save began in the midlands and has been attempting to expand southwards since 2021, with sites now in cities and counties including Bristol, London and Hampshire.
