Little Moons to examine further rollout of freezers across indies after “promising” trial

The product had previously become a viral sensation in independent stores

Ice cream supplier Little Moons is to double the number of branded chillers across the UK, with the business looking to expand upon a trial rollout in independent stores.

Ross Farquhar, Marketing Director at Little Moons, said: In 2023, we trialled freezers in a small number of independent retailers.  Initial but early results have been promising, and so we are currently working on the best way to extend the rollout further (including looking at different formats of freezer to meet the different needs of retailers).

“Looking at our UK business as a whole, we are doubling the number of freezers we are placing in 2024 vs 2023.  All in, this represents a managed roll out while we test and learn about what works in different retail environments.”

Little Moons TikTok videos go viral

Kaual Patel, of Nisa Torridon in South London, had previously told Better Retailing he had seen interest from customers for the popular ice cream product after they had seen the branded freezer in his store.

Little Moons, which are balls of ice cream encased in rice dough, had gained popularity as a viral product in convenience stores.
