Nestlé stocks up on Christmas chocs

Nestle Confectionery will focus on its portfolio of big brands for Christmas 2014, adding exciting innovation to its traditional family favourites.

Nestle Confectionery will once again focus on its portfolio of big brands for Christmas 2014, adding exciting innovation to its traditional family favourites to help retailers maximise seasonal sales and profits.  

With seasonal impulse confectionery the number one area of focus at Christmas for convenience retailers, Nestlé is adding another impulse option to its best-selling My Green Bar, My Orange Bar. The bar, RRP 65p, will consist of four Orange Crunch pieces and the launch will also be supported by Facebook activity to spread the buzz.

Kids get a look in too with the Smarties Little Choc Penguin, RRP 65p, which comprises of a chocolate shell packed with mini Smarties, and the Milky Polar Bear Cub, RRP 65p.

Also new for this Christmas, and exclusively for the convenience channel, is the Quality Street 200g carton, RRP £2, and the After Eight Selection, RRP £4.01, containing a selection of dark, milk and white chocolate fondants. 

The stylishly designed box opens into a more informal sharing pack ideal for dipping into with friends and family.

However, it’s not all about chocolate. New for sweet lovers this Christmas is the Rowntree’s Sharing Tub

Filled with a combination of classic sweets: Fruit Pastilles, Jelly Tots and Randoms, this tub makes an alternative to chocolate for friends and families to share as well as a smart bet for retailers with the Rowntree’s brand up 52% in the past five years.
