Uber Eats is now prohibiting some independent retailers from stocking baby formula, following similar restrictions imposed previously on vapes.

In messages sent to stores, seen by Better Retailing, the home delivery provider said listing of the items by independent stores would need approval due to “tight regulations and controls”.

One of the affected retailers, who asked not to be named, told Better Retailing: “These are important products for us, and rival supermarkets have been allowed to list them on Uber Eats.

“They state they must be approved before we list them. I contacted them to start this, but got an automated reply. We have proof we are compliant.”
