Post Office launches campaign spotlighting independent business owners

The Support Your Local Post Office (PO) video campaign presents a compilation of postmasters, including Vince Malone of Tenby Stores & PO in Pembrokeshire.

The campaign highlights their work as small independent business owners, and lists the services they provide, including providing a local service for community, being a ‘lifeline for many people’, providing cash, sending parcels, and acting as a banking service.

“We’re not employed, we’re local independent business owners,” one postmaster said in the video.

Speaking to Better Retailing, Vince Malone said: “I think that it’s a very simple message we wanted to get across, representing Post Offices up and down the country. For a brand so well intertwined in our communties, people sometimes don’t understand that we’re local independent owners.”

The campaign includes a roll out of six videos in total, with the remaining five released over the next five weeks.

Malone continued: “Our business operates under the Post Office banner, and we’re doing a job by and large that we thoroughly enjoy. The idea s brilliant, and underlines what we do and why do it.”
