Young’s launches Chip Shop Mini Fish Fillets

Young’s Seafood is building on the success of its Chip Shop range with the launch of Mini Fish Fillets.

Mini Fish Fillets come in 300g packs of six at an RRP of £3.75. The product’s launch comes as the Chip Shop brand has grown by 10.3% in the past year.

This has been driven by shoppers looking to recreate their favourite takeaway meals at home, the supplier said.

The new launch can also cater to different occasions, such as a lighter main meal, or as a snack as part of a sharing platter, or in a wrap. It also broadens the demographic of the traditionally older consumer of frozen battered fish, by appealing to families with children.

Young’s marketing director Julian Fletcher said: “By taking smaller portioned fillets and coating them in our signature Chip Shop batter, we are able to offer new shoppers new opportunities to enjoy frozen fish outside of the traditional meal occasion.”
