Treasury Wine Estates launches 19 Crimes The Banished and new virtual reality app

Retailers can increase wine sales among men in the run-up to Halloween with Treasury Wine Estates’ new 19 Crimes The Banished.

The wine is a dark red blend that features James Wilson on the bottle, a convict who was found guilty of treason and sent to Australia in 1867.

The Banished was originally launched in Asda earlier in the summer, but has now secured listings in Bargain Booze and Costco, with Parfetts Go Local stores and Today’s Group also stocking the product ahead of Halloween.

The range will be supported with a neck collar promotion that promotes the brand’s new app, which uses augmented reality technology. By scanning the bottles with the app, shoppers will see the characters on the label begin sharing their stories.
