Children’s magazines are more reliant on trends than any other sector and, this summer, Despicable Me spin-off Minions is bound to set tills ringing.

The Minions film is due to hit cinemas on 26 June and publishers will be looking to cash in on the hype surrounding its release.

Redan Publishing joint managing director Julie Jones says: “Minions span such a wide age range and are so instantly recognisable that having them on covers is going to be hugely popular.”

Retailers can take advantage of the film’s popularity by displaying issues featuring the characters on the cover at the front of the newsstand, where children can see them.
