JTI develops new app for retailers

JTI has launched an app for its trade website, and the JTI Advance app will help retailers ready their business for the changes in tobacco legislation.

JTI has launched an app for its trade website that will help retailers ready their business for the changes in tobacco legislation over the next year.

The JTI Advance app will allow retailers to easily access product and pricing information, create shopping lists using a barcode scanner, and keep up to date with short training tips and the latest news on products and legislation, such as the EU Tobacco Products Directive 2.

It has been developed with retailers to offer what they need, and offers a whole category approach rather than just focusing on JTI’s products.

The app is available to download for free now, but retailers have to be registered for JTI Advance to access the information.

It will work alongside the website, which will continue to offer in-depth training and advice, and downloads.

“The landscape over the next 18 months is going to change,” said Jeremy Blackburn, JTI head of communications. “As we move towards TPD2, the app can push out messages to retailers, helping them to transition shoppers from 10-packs to 20s.

“If we can get the right information to retailers, they can get the right information to their customers.”
