Exclusive Hot Wheels trial for indies

The limited edition cars profit a 30% profit on return

Hot Wheels cars trial

An exclusive toy trial will give independent convenience stores access to collectable Hot Wheels die-cast cars.

The trial by online cash and carry BrownBox and toy manufacturer Mattel UK comes as EPoS data showed toys to be one of the fastest-growing segments in convenience stores, driven by school closures.

The Hot Wheels cars come in box sizes of 24 and 72, and are on ready-made clip strips of 12.

Goods ordered at brown-box.co.uk will be delivered by news wholesalers. Richard Lamb, BrownBox director, pledged to use retailer feedback to improve the service before the trial rolls out in July.

The cars are of limited availability and offer a 30% profit on return. Mattel UK country manager Michael Hick said BrownBox offered “the perfect price” for retailers.
