Google can put independent stores on the map

Retailers who regularly update their Google Maps profile can increase the number of potential customers who are directed to them online by 25%.

Retailers who regularly update their Google Maps profile can increase the number of potential customers who are directed to them online by 25%.

This is according to Oliver Lane, founder of Velmont Media, who partner with independent stores to improve their store’s listing on Google Maps.

Lane told RN the company supports up to eight retailers a month. “We work with everyone from younger retailers starting a business to established store owners who don’t have a computer,” he said.

“Customers are internet-savvy and use Google Maps to find nearby businesses. A page with details such as opening times and photos will make them more visible online and increase store footfall.
