Deliveroo targets your alcohol shoppers

Delivery giant Deliveroo has signed a deal with a number of retailers to bring alcohol into its home delivery service offering.

Convenience stores could be facing a new threat as alcohol retailers Majestic Wine and Vagabond Wines have jumped on the home delivery bandwagon by signing a deal with Deliveroo.

Microbreweries BeerDog and Honest Brew have also waded in on the deal, making the growing popularity of craft beers available for delivery straight to shoppers’ doors.

Shoppers who order alcohol from the website can expect to receive their drinks in as little as half an hour, with the minimum spend being just £7 to qualify for free delivery.

The new service – which is already up and running – follows trials in March, and is available from eight Majestic Wine locations across London, as well as 20 BrewDog bars in several UK cities.

However, retailers can take advantage of similar, albeit lesser known, delivery services. Bevy, an app that partners with independent alcohol retailers, is currently looking for off licences to sign up to its service. For more information, click here.
