Coca-Cola hopes to spread a little happiness and profits

Coca-Cola Enterprises is kicking off the festive season with a raft of activity leading up to Christmas.

The brand is back on TV with its iconic ‘Holidays are coming’ ad and is running a new “Give A Little Happiness” TV ad, inspired by acts of kindness.

The Coca-Cola Christmas Truck Tour is also returning with the trucks visiting more than 40 high-footfall hotspots and cities across the UK.

Meanwhile, following on from the success of the second Share a Coke campaign over the summer, the company is offering consumers the chance to buy Christmas-themed 500ml packs of Coca-Cola, Diet Coke and Coca-Cola Zero. The set of nine special edition packs are designed to drive incremental sales over the festive period by encouraging shoppers to ‘Share a Coke’ with either Rudolph or one of his fellow reindeer.

“The festive period represents a big opportunity for retailers to drive in-store sales,” said Nick Canney, VP sales and marketing at CCE.

“Soft drinks is the top performing seasonal category at Christmas, so we recommend retailers give over the space and display that reflects their importance to shoppers.”
