Other soft drink manufacturers are looking to or lower sugar content ahead of April's sugar levy, but Coca-Cola European Partners has confirmed it will not alter its formula.

According to the manufacturer, the 1.75l bottle will shrink to 1.5l, while the 500ml flavours will remain the same size, but rise in price to £1.25. Meanwhile price-marked drinks will go up by as much as 10%.

Ninety-five per cent of CCEP's drinks portfolio, including Coca-Cola Zero Sugar and Diet Coke, will not be affected by the soft drinks levy.

In 2016, Lucozade owner Lucozade Ribena Suntory announced that it would reformulate all of its products to bypass the sugar tax.
