Camelot promises double sales from second super Euromillions draw

Lottery retailers can expect a 146% sales boost due to a second bumper Euromillion jackpot this Friday, according to Camelot.

Lottery retailers can expect a 146% sales boost due to a second bumper Euromillion jackpot this Friday, according to Camelot.

The Euromillions jackpot now stands at £136m and the lottery provider is boosting its advertising spend by 50% in order to drive ticket purchases.

In a statement describing the impact to stores, a spokesperson for Camelot said: “Retailers can expect a sales frenzy and should let all of their customers know about the amazing EuroMillions jackpot, as well as make the most of National Lottery players coming back in-store to check their tickets.”

The company also promised to create 13 millionaires from its October 13 draw.

Criticism of falling lottery sales from retailers led the launch of Camelot’s Allstars programme and the reintroduction of a free helpline earlier this year. Over the summer, 28,000 store visits were carried out and 100,000 new PoS items were distributed as part of the retailer support programme.
