Big brands are continuing to sell strongly through convenience, according to new data from home delivery app Snappy Shopper.

According to sales from 1,800 independent retailers using the service, brands such as Pepsi Max, Warburtons, Coca-Cola and Müller have all seen significant sales boosts compared to the previous year.

This indicates the role big brands have to play in catering to convenience shops and quick deliveries.

Snappy Shopper to expand into new sectors following 50% year-on-year growth

The overall top seller on Snappy Shopper in the past 12 months was Coca-Cola’s 1.75l bottle, which experienced a 145.2% sales growth compared to the previous year, selling more than 68.000 units.

Müller’s 2l semi-skimmed milk bottle also saw a large increase, up by 345%.

Mike Callachan, founder and CEO of Snappy Shopper, said: ““Recent data from Kantar shows that grocery own-brand sales reached 51% by the end of 2022. As food prices rise steeply, shoppers are turning to cheaper supermarket alternatives. However, the convenience of purchasing established brands from local independent convenience stores is thriving, leading to larger basket spends and ultimately benefitting local retailers and their businesses.”
