Batleys depots rebranded to Bestway

The wholesaler acquired Batleys in 2005

Bestway Nuneaton

More than 20 Batleys cash and carries across the UK have been rebranded to the Bestway name.

The rebrands were quietly rolled out by the wholesaler, with the full list of depot changes outlined on its website. Bestway notably acquired Batleys in 2005. The 22 Batleys sites affected are Aberdeen, Birmingham, Bradford, Cambuslang, Cardiff Hadfield Road, Cleveland, Doncaster, Dundee, Edinburgh, Gillingham, Huddersfield, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Preston, Sheffield, Glasgow, Southampton and Swindon.

In some cases, the whole name of the site has been altered. For example, Batleys Leeds has been renamed Bestway Stourton, while Batleys Manchester is Bestway Salford.

One source told Better Retailing the service to customers in affected sites will be unaffected, “with everything remaining the same.” Another added: “It makes sense as the Bestway name had more recognition among customers.”

Better Retailing has approached Bestway for comment.
