Amazon to offer Iceland groceries online

Amazon will be making Iceland’s groceries available to its Prime members

Iceland’s full selection of groceries is set to become available on Amazon Prime in the UK.

The deal, named ‘Iceland on Amazon’, will offer consumers same-day grocery delivery for some items.

Iceland on Amazon will initially be available in selected postcodes across Greater Manchester, followed by a roll-out in more postcodes in the coming months.

John Boumphrey, UK country manager, said: “We are working hard to create a best-in-class grocery shopping experience for customers, adding some of the country’s most loved supermarkets to our Fresh offering online, alongside the opening of new, innovative Amazon Fresh stores.”

Iceland joins Morrisons and Co-op with the move, with both supermarkets already offering groceries on Amazon. Lines added from the Amazon and Iceland collaboration include exclusive own-label fresh and frozen items from the supermarket, plus Greggs, Heinz
My Protein and TGI Fridays. All products will be sourced directly from an Iceland store.

David Devany, Iceland’s chief customer and digital officer, said: “Partnering with Amazon is yet another way that Iceland customers can get their hands on our exclusive brands and freezer favourites. This is also an exciting opportunity for us to introduce new shoppers to the benefits of shopping with Iceland.”
