Bestway helps retailers drive sales with new category advice

Retailers can access merchandising advice from Bestway Wholesale, as it unveils a new online category management section.

The website will offer advice on petcare, frozen food, health & beauty and medicines. Two categories will be added every month.

In February, crisps & snacks and household advice will be introduced, with soft drinks and ice cream following in March.

Tony Holmes, sales director for Bestway, said stocking a core range and offering strong shopper promotions are the two most important areas for retailers to get right.

“Many retailers are stocking too many products that clutter shelves and confuse shoppers rather than focusing on the core ranges that account for the majority of sales,” he added.

Each section contains planograms, must-stock lines and market insight. The website does not require a log-in or password to access.

The company will distribute print versions of the advice to its symbol and club members, as well as independent customers.
