Simply Fresh opens CTN concept to independents

Simply Fresh has made its Little Fresh franchise available to independent retailers following ‘phenomenal success’ with five company-owned stores.

Simply Fresh has made its Little Fresh franchise available to independent retailers following ‘phenomenal success’ with five stores.

The chain, which launched two years ago, focuses on bringing trends such as food-to-go and vegan products to smaller CTN formats with an average floor size of 300sq ft. Existing sites are based on university and hospital campuses in areas including Pembrokeshire, Milton Keynes and Dorset.

Simply Fresh creative director Davinder Jheeta told RN the symbol group plans to open 10 additional Little Fresh stores through independent retailers this year. “We’ve had phenomenal success since launch because we have been offering products and ranges that no other symbol group has access to in this format,” he said.

“We want to recruit 10 more stores through independent retail and bring Little Fresh on to the high street in urban areas. We’re taking away traditional groceries and produce from these CTN-format stores, and focusing more on areas such as hot food, snacks and health trends.”
