On-pack promotions, case sizes and price-marked packs were the key topics debated at KP Snacks last SnacKPartners Ambassador Forum.

The forum was attended by One Stop retailers Sunder Sandher and Dee Sedani, Londis retailers Steve Bassett and Atul Sodha, Spar retailers Julian Taylor Green and Raj Aggarwal, as well as Simply Fresh store owner Avtar Sidhu, Nisa retailer Kishor Patel and Dennis Williams of Premier Stores in Edinburgh.

As a result of the discussions, the company has committed to provide any independent or symbol retailer that sells a winning pack of McCoy’s ‘Go For Gold’ promotion, where shoppers can win £10,000, with PR support to shout about the prize to their customers.

Matt Collins, KP Snacks convenience sales director, told Retail Express: “Atul told us he posts winning scratch cards and lottery tickets, which generates interest in his store, so we’ll support any promotion winners too.”

The forum also debated snacking case sizes, which have gradually decreased in the convenience channel in recent years.

“We looked at whether there was an opportunity to make case sizes bigger on fast selling lines, like price-marked packs. Our £1 PMPs are currently in 12s, but is there an opportunity to make it 15 or 18?”

“These retailers really do shape our plans. We met ahead of McCoy’s Chips launched and after their feedback, we changed our plans to include £1 PMPs and additional flavour,” he said.
