Londis retailer sees 40% sales increase by introducing Booker brands

Retailers are reporting a 40% increase in sales since introducing Booker brands, such as Euro Shopper, Happy Shopper and Farm Fresh.

Retailers are reporting a 40% increase in sales since introducing Booker’s own-label brands, such as Euro Shopper, Happy Shopper and Farm Fresh.

Following last year’s £40m purchase of Musgrave, Londis retailers have been stocking Booker brands.

The products have gradually become available to retailers to stock through Londis over the past few months, with more lines continually coming in to the range.

Harry Singh Hallen of Londis Store & Post Office in Carstairs Junction began replacing his SuperValu range with Happy Shopper and Euro Shopper three months ago and saw sales soar by 40%.

“We stock about 60 Happy Shopper lines and 40 Euro Shopper ones. The great thing about Happy Shopper is that they have multibuy deals, which gives customers value. We’d never stocked these ranges before, but as soon as Londis started stocking them we began to,” he said.

Harry said he is also looking at stocking more Farm Fresh lines, such as cheeses that come on a two-for-£3 deal.

Bintesh Amin of Binny’s in Kent, said: “I’ve got some Euro Shopper and Happy Shopper lines in my new shop, such as energy drinks and chocolate, which are working really well. It’s a strong brand and people recognise it.”
