OPINION: Is networking part of your business plan?

In three weeks’ time, the Retail Express team, along with our sister title Retail Newsagent, will be at the Local Shop Summit.

The Local Shop Summit is designed to help independent convenience retailers develop their business by addressing the opportunities and threats in the sector through live discussions.

It also provides a prime opportunity to network with suppliers and like-minded retailers.

In this week’s issue of Retail Express, our Magnificent Seven retailer Harj Dhasee talks about the value of networking. It’s an essential part of business, he says, as it gives him new ideas and adds double-digital growth to specific categories in his store. He uses it to seek out great ideas.

Retail Express’ role is to bring great ideas to you – whether it’s practical advice on managing categories, tips on getting involved in future growth areas, such as our three-part Fit For The Future series, or inspiration from your peers on what they are up to in their stores.

But so much of successful retailing is about being seen and forming relationships. You can’t stay in your shop every day if you want to drive your business forward.

Face-to-face events offer perfect opportunities to build relationships, discuss ideas and pick up examples of success.

If you want to find out more about the live discussion sessions on the day and who the keynote speakers are, click here.

I hope to see you there.
