Nisa reduces fuel levy by nearly 10%

The reduction means retailers will get charged £12.09 for every delivery

Nisa has confirmed it has reduced its fuel levy by nearly 10% to £10.99 per drop.

The reduction of the charge, which retailers pay for every delivery they receive, was implemented on 17 October. Nisa reviews the charge every quarter, basing the rate on the cost of fuel. Last month, government figures indicated fuel prices around the UK were at their lowest level since May.

Despite the 10% decrease, the current levy is still significantly higher than the £4.88 rate introduced in February, when Nisa first announced it was implementing the charge.

A spokesperson for Nisa said: “We’ve always said we would continue to track fuel prices on a quarterly basis and make necessary amendments. Since the price of fuel has remained consistent for the past three weeks, from Monday 17th October the fuel levy charge was reduced by almost 10%.”
