Key industry figures will take part in a parachute jump next month in aid of NewstrAid, a charity that supports news retailers.

Key industry figures will be jumping out of a plane next month, in aid of a charity that supports news retailers.

Eleven people, including former NFRN national president Naresh Purohit and Trinity Mirror’s group newspaper sales & marketing director Neil Jagger, have signed up to take part, with a target of raising £10,000 for NewstrAid.

“I am so grateful to all those who have volunteered to jump in support of NewstrAid,”said Alex van Straubenzee, chief executive of NewstrAid. “They are a lot braver than me!

“We welcome anyone who wishes to support this fundraising event by coming to Sibson Airfield, near Peterborough on September 23 or by sponsoring any of the jumpers.”
