Get ready to take summer sales by ‘tropical’ storm

In a bid to drive flavoured energy drinks sales this summer, Boost is launching Tropical Guango, which is available to retailers from the end of April.

Available in 250ml cans, price-marked at 49p, Boost Tropical Guango comes in cases of 24. The flavour will offer retailers a minimum profit margin of 45%.

The flavour is sugar free and aims capitalise on the brand’s sugar free sales growing by 17% last year.

The launch will be backed by sampling and social media activity. Retailers can promote the new flavour with tropical-themed PoS.

Al Gunn, Boost sales director, said the trend towards flavoured and sugar free drinks is set to continue.

“Sports and energy drinks now make up more than a third of all soft drink sales. Furthermore, 59% of adults are now drinking sports and energy drinks,” he added.

The launch follows Cherry Burst, which the brand launched in May 2015.
