Ferrero unveils Spring 2017 range

The Ferrero Spring 2017 Easter Confectionery range has been revealed, with Thorntons making a TV appearance for the first time in 7 years.

Ferrero has unveiled its plans to help convenience retailers drive sales in spring 2017 with new products and a £5m marketing investment.

Thorntons, which was acquired by Ferrero last year, will be back on TV for the first time in seven years.

The brand is also launching new Thorntons Collection Eggs in Nuts & Praline, Fruit, Toffee, Fudge & Caramel and Mint flavours, RRP £6.

For children’s gifts, Thorntons is bringing back its Butterfly, Cupcake and Football milk eggs, as well as its Gruffalo Milk Egg and Harry Hopalot White Egg.

Kinder Surprise is partnering with two new licenses, My Little Pony and Transformers, for two 100g boxed eggs. Kinder Joy is also returning this year, which retailers can promote with PoS.

Raffaello will be backed by an £850,000 spend this spring and is launching 40g and 140g Raffaello Hearts.

Ferrero is also bringing back its Grand Ferrero Rocher and will be on TV in the run up to Easter.

Levi Boorer, customer development director for Ferrero, urged retailers to start stocking up on spring confectionery in January.

“Chocolate remains hugely popular during the spring season, with many shoppers buying for all ages to gift and share,” he added.
