Walkers makes Sunbites HFSS compliant and reveals recycled plastic packaging

The crisp brand has announced new changes to its Sunbites range

Walkers is announcing the rollout of new packaging for Sunbites range.

The new packaging is made with 50% recycled plastic. The change is set to reduce Sunbites’ use of virgin plastic by over 200 tonnes over the next two years.

The range is also now classified as non-HFSS. The reformulation follows months of trials at Walkers’ R&D centre aimed at reducing salt and sugar.

Imperial Brands calls for more targeted vape regulations

The launch forms part of PepsiCo’s health and sustainability plan.

Gareth Callan, sustainable packaging lead for PepsiCo UK, said: “The Sunbites transformation marks our ongoing commitment to offering products that are better for both people and planet.

“We’re proud of the progress we’ve made so far to reduce the fossil-based plastic we use and meet growing demand for healthier snacking options without sacrificing taste.”
