KP Snacks expands Wheat Crunchies Spicy Tomato formats

£1.25 PMPs now account for 18 of the 20 bestselling CSN lines in independents

KP Snacks is expanding its Wheat Crunchies Spicy Tomato variety with new formats.

The new flavour is available in a 70g £1.25 price-marked pack (PMP), and in a 45g Grab Bag format with an RRP of £1.

Its launch comes after the brand’s Wheat Crunchies Crispy Bacon £1.25 PMP saw a 15.4% growth in sales.

According to NielsenIQ, £1.25 PMP products account for 61% of crisps, snacks & nuts (CSN) sales in independents. Additionally, 18 of the 20 bestselling CSN lines in independents are £1.25 PMPs.

KP Snacks is currently driving 39% of total £1.25 PMP product sales.

The supplier hopes to boost sales by capitalising on its Spicy Tomato flavour, with “spicy” being the third-fastest growing flavour profile.

“KP Snacks’ £1.25 PMP portfolio is growing ahead of the overall large PMP market in CSN at +53.4%. By expanding our market-leading PMP range we will continue to tempt and engage shoppers,” said Matt Collins, trading director at KP Snacks.
