For independent retailers, the best ideas will be free

RETAILERS looking for new ways to improve their sales should find a host of great ideas, hints and tips at the Independent Retail Show 2013.

RETAILERS looking for new ways to improve their sales should find a host of great ideas, hints and tips at the Independent Retail Show 2013 (IRS13), being held at EventCity, Manchester on October 6-7.

Kellogg’s, Taylors of Harrogate, Booker, Nisa and Parfetts are among the many leading suppliers and wholesalers taking part in the annual show this year for retailers.

Visitors will hear from industry experts and benefit from exclusive deals with an eye on helping them take their share of the fast-growing £34bn convenience market.

Hayley Pavlou, head of engagement at IRS partner and Retail Express publisher Newtrade, said: “IRS13 will showcase a wide range of new products and offer new ideas and inspiration to help retailers to wow their customers and fight back against the march of the multiples.

“Retailers will have a fantastic opportunity to take away new ideas for their businesses and exhibitors will show their latest products and offer exclusive deals.”

Other features include the Profit Zone, in which retailers are offered expert advice, and Symbol Street, a street showing how different symbol store formats can increase footfall.

A ‘farmers’ market’ will also be held, helping retailers discover how stocking local produce can distinguish them from the multiples.

Dan Marsden, retail support manager at Booker, said: “Our aim is to offer the best choice, price and service. We invite retailers to come and meet our team at IRS13 and learn how we can help you.”

The IRS is backed by the UK’s largest trade association, the NFRN, which will be presenting a range of commercial deals for local retailers.

The show is free to attend and provides free parking.

Register at www.independentretailshow.co.uk/register. Visitors must be over the age of 16 to attend.
