Nisa retailers in the North East will soon be able to take customer orders online before having the products delivered by staff from fast food delivery company – One Delivery.

Consumers will be able to order from 150 key tobacco, alcohol, fresh and ambient lines online, a driver from a local One Delivery franchise will pick up the products from a Nisa store and drop them at the customer’s door within an hour.

The service is currently being trialled at Nisa Oxbridge in County Durham but according to One Delivery, plans are in place “to expand this service to many more stores across the UK during 2018.”

The store manager at the trial store Russell Andrews told Retail Express that they’d had their first order through the service, which is open from 12pmto 10pm every day. He commented: “It’s working well, it’s a simple system that will hopefully help us generate additional sales.”

One Delivery business development manager Paul Romeanes said that discussions with individual Nisa retailers would drive the rollout, rather than a HQ agreement. He hoped to partner one store with every One Delivery franchise, meaning 120 Nisa partners by the end of 2018.

Multiples, such as Sainsbury’s and Tesco have faced pressure from Amazon over one hour deliveries and have responded with their own one hour delivery services.

Convenience retailers have partnered with Deliveroo in order to boost alcohol sales, which are often sold with, but a sign-up fee and the 30% share of revenue taken by the service has deterred some potential retail partners.
