Samantha takes a proactive approach to responsible retailing, going the extra mile to protect her community. She faces challenges with retail crime, so reports every single instance, working closely with the police. She couples this by writing her own reports to ensure the extent of the problem is known. She has also introduced a new CCTV system, which has facial recognition to alert staff when someone undesirable comes in. Samantha works closely with trading standards on illicit trade and goes into local schools to educate children in the impact of shoplifting.

Responsible Retailing 2018 Finalists:

  • Sue Nithyanandan, Costcutter Epsom, Epsom, Surrey
  • David Lewis, Crescent Stores Spar, Minster Lovell, Oxfordshire
  • Vip Measuria, One Stop Draycott, Derby
  • Samantha Coldbeck, Wharfedale Premier, Hull
