The award for Retail Innovation, in association with Post Office
Winner: Wojciech Lorkievicz, Greylees Convenience Store (Premier Express), Sleaford
Wojciech identified through local discussion the need for a cost-effective store with quality produce. He has reviewed everything and has taken a 300 litres a day forecourt selling cigarettes and a basic range of soft drinks and confectionery to a 3,500 litres a day store selling coffee, alcohol, local meat, vegetables and cakes.
There are innovation touch points everywhere including a free prescription pickup service and a bench which they installed outside so that people waiting for the bus have somewhere to sit, making him a hub for his local community.

Learn more about Retail Innovation
- Wojciech has invested £100,000 in his site, with lit bollards, state-of-the-art air and vac machines and an extended car park to improve his offer. He has transformed a basic store into a c-store with an extended range.
- Wojciech placed a bench outside the store so people waiting on the bus stop have somewhere to sit. The store is a hub for people who need to pick up medical prescriptions but don’t want to travel miles to the nearest town.
- The store gains an edge on the competition by stocking produce from a local butcher and baker in addition to big brands. By concentrating on convenience products, they have tripled footfall.
