IAA 2016 Availability

The award for Availability, in association with Imperial Tobacco:

imperial-tobacco-logoVip continually beats his 94% availability target, regularly achieving 97% or more. Over the past year he has changed his procedures and now keeps a more accurate stock file. This is achieved by daily gap and low-line checks plus newly introduced negative stock takes and investigation reports which are also done daily.

These prompt the team to check and rectify the results quickly. Vip has three chilled and three distribution centre deliveries a week which streamlines his operation and avoids overstocking. All this has resulted in a 29% growth in sales.

  1. Vip’s store is a new One Stop and he knows how important it is to cater for existing and new customers. He gathers customer requests and keeps abreast of community events that might benefit sales.
  2. Vip and his team use EpoS to keep track of stock and run a stocktake every day to keep full availability of bestsellers.
  3. Vip and his staff walk their store to check stock, and fill any gaps they find. While the industry recommends 94% availability, Vip aims for 97%.
