Steve Parfett to retire from Parfetts

Parfett will leave the wholesaler at the end of December after more than 29 years.

Parfetts chairman Steve Parfett is to retire from the wholesaler at the end of this year.

Parfett leaves after 29 years with the business. He was managing director between 1989 and 2011, before taking on the chairman role in 2011. The wholesaler has transitioned from being a family-owned to employee-owned business over the last 10 years.

Parfetts joint managing director David Grimes said: “The Parfetts executive board have thoroughly enjoyed working with Steve over the years and would like to take this opportunity to thank him for the valued support he has given on the journey to becoming an award-winning, fully employee-owned company.

“It truly is the end of an era and we are sure all of us here at Parfetts would like to wish Steve the very best in whatever future endeavours he decides to pursue.”

Parfett’s departure comes as Guy Swindell was promoted to the role of retail director, alongside Andy Whitworth who has taken on the position of wholesale director.
