Morrisons is considering a new branded refill station offering titled ‘Weigh to Go’, according to trademark applications uncovered by Better Retailing.
Filed in December, the logo and branding highlights growing competition between multiples to bring zero-waste services to their customers.
However, an independent store in Edinburgh has already been trading under the Weigh to Go name for three years. A spokesperson for the store described the move by Morrisons as “frustrating”.
Asked about its plans for the brand, a Morrisons spokesperson said: “We have already launched refills in our stores.
“We trademark a wide range of potential names for products and services all of the time, some of which may not be used.”
