Stores can profit from Reach betting promos

Giveaways in upcoming Reach newspapers will provide stores with an opportunity to grow their sales if promoted to customers.

Daily Mirror, Star, Express and Record editions, plus all of Reach’s regional titles will include a free William Hill bet between 19 May and 1 June.

Daily Mirror, Star and selected Reach regional titles will also give away free tickets to major horse races, this promotion will feature in editions from 19 to 25 May. Stores should make sure to check regional titles as they arrive to see if the offer is included.

“The thousands of hardworking newsagents who sell papers everyday are fully aware that horse-racing is a massive casual sales driver,” said Reach’s group circulation director John Howard. “We have the Derby, Ascot and Goodwood all coming up in the next and couple of months and through these fantastic offers we ensure that Reach nationals get a huge share of the sales available. Check out the new Daily Star Racing pull-out as well – They’re off!”

The Fed advised retailers can make the most of promotions by displaying papers on the counter or by creating separate displays with the covers clearly visible. Stores can also cross-merchandise editions with racing titles or chat about the offers with fans of racing titles.

You can also benefit from sharing the covers displaying these offers on social media, as Eugene Diamond of Diamond’s News in Ballymena does. Diamond told RN that the strategy is essential for a modern store and has been very successful in attracting new customers.
