The Bank of England is encouraging retailers to start banking paper £10 featuring naturalist Charles Darwin, ahead of their complete withdrawal from circulation.
On 1 March the Darwin £10 note will be replaced with the new polymer note featuring author Jane Austen.
A spokesperson said: “An A4 poster is available from the Bank of England to help support staff training on withdrawal. It can also be displayed at the shop front.”
The Bank also advise retailers to check with suppliers whether cash handling machines need to be adapted, and to find out whether their bank will accept paper £10 notes after the withdrawal date.
