Mital has broken all the rules and redefined what convenience retailing means in what was once a run-down part of Manchester.

He’s introduced locally roasted, bean-to-cup coffee with organic milk prepared by baristas, and taken risks in stocking vegan ranges including dairy free cheese, as well as gluten-free, vegetarian and organic products.

An alcohol licence enables him to serve draught beer which customers can drink in or take away in glass tankards and by holding events, he’s taking share from local pubs as well as cafes and has exceeded every target he set.

Finalists:

·       Mital Morar, Ancoats General Store, Manchester

·       Ferhan Ashiq, Levenhall Village Store, Musselburgh

·       Siva Thievanayagan, Nisa Local Fletton & Post Office, Peterborough

·       Sunder Sandher, One Stop Working With Royals, Leamington Spa
