PayPoint is to give Collect Plus retailers free label printers, following reports an increase in the demand for in-store printing services was costing store owners more money.
The service provider’s chief operating officer Lewis Alcraft said the rollout of the printers will start September and is due for completion in July.
“All future label rolls will also be provided free-of-charge. By enabling the swift printing of industry standard self-adhesive shipping labels, the new printers will assist retailers in reducing processing times, as well as saving them money.
“We will have 60% of transactions covered pre-peak Christmas trading and will be writing to retailers ahead of their expected delivery,” Alcroft added.
The coronavirus pandemic has led to an increase in demand for in-store printing services from customers. However, some retailers said they were having to pay for more labels and till roll themselves to meet this demand.
