PayPoint One hits 14,000 store milestone

PayPoint's EPoS and payment services system, PayPoint One, is now live in more than 14,000 stores across the UK.

PayPoint's EPoS and payment services system, PayPoint One, is now live in more than 14,000 stores across the UK.

PayPoint has converted more than 750 additional convenience stores to its PayPoint One device in the past two months to reach the 14,000 outlet milestone.

The company says the system “has transformed” the way retailers deliver convenience as it combines EPoS, parcels, card and bill payments into a single terminal, while allowing them to manage their businesses in real-time from anywhere through PayPoint’s cloud-based technology and free mobile app.

Retailer Ken Singh, who has PayPoint One in his store in Pontefract, said: “It adds value and streamlines my business. I love the all-in-one capabilities and the integration of EPoS, secure integrated card payments and bill payments. I’ve also seen a decrease in errors on the bill payment facility as nothing is credited until checkout.”

PayPoint’s chief commercial officer Lewis Alcraft added: “It continues to evolve to transform convenience retail for the customer and our retail partners.”

The firm previously came under fire from retailers that accused it of forcing stores to switch to the new system, however, PayPoint strongly denied the claims, and stated letters had only been sent to a small number of retailers about the retirement of its yellow box terminals, which will be completely removed by the end of this year.
