The launch marks the third limited-edition flavour for the brand
FrieslandCampina has extended its range of flavoured milks with a Yazoo Choc-Hazelicious edition, available to retailers now.
The launch marks the third limited-edition flavour for the brand. In the past two years it has launched Choc-Mint and Choc-Caramel, generating sales of £1m and £1.2m respectively.
Wayne Thompson, out-of-home business unit controller at Yazoo, said the decision behind the flavour was a result of surveying 2,500 people about 32 different flavours.
“As 48% of flavoured milk sales are chocolate based, we knew this should inform our choice. Chocolate hazelnut came out in our survey as one of the top three choices.”
The launch will be supported by an on-pack promotion giving shoppers the chance to win two-for-one entry to Alton Towers when they buy a bottle. The last time the brand teamed up with the theme park it led to a sales increase of up to 8%.
Yazoo’s 1l range is growing at 31% year on year, ahead of the growth of the wider 1l flavoured milk segment, which is growing at 8%.
