Children’s magazines are one of the most dynamic sectors on the newsstand, with trends often defining the success of a title.

Film and television tie-ins are popular among children and major investment is made by publishers to research, launch and promote new titles.

Two launches due to hit newsstands on 28 January should bring some fresh appeal to the sector.

Immediate Media is launching a six-weekly title called Lego Ninjago Master of Spinjitzu that will have a cover price of £3.25. This will complement its already successful title Lego Legends of Chima.

Egmont Publishing is also adding to its children’s portfolio with the launch of Star Wars Rebels, a monthly title that has a cover price of £2.99.
