Northern & Shell is increasing the price of the Daily Express and Daily Star, with percentage terms remaining the same, based on the new cover prices.
Taking effect on 23 July, the weekday editions of the Daily Star will rise from 20p to 30p, the Saturday edition from 30p to 50p, and the Sunday edition from 50p to 70p across the UK. Percentage margins will remain at 24.2%, 24.17%, and 22.10% respectively.
The Daily Express will also increase the price of its Saturday title from 45p to 80p across the UK, and the weekday Scottish edition will go from 30p to 50p. Percentage margins will remain at 21.44% and 24.2% respectively. The Daily Express weekday edition for England and Northern Ireland – which was excluded from the price reductions December last year – will remain the same.
