With fresh food becoming increasingly important to the convenience channel, Nisa has launched a new wholesale fresh produce service.

Nisa’s fresh produce service has seen a 17% volume increase and has opened the door to the 65 Nisa members who had not previously stocked fresh produce, since it launched on March 7.

Due to convenience stores usually ordering fresh produce in smaller quantities, getting a competitive price can be difficult. Nisa’s service allows retailers to purchase a selection of loose produce in larger quantities, which improves the margin retailers get.

Stewart Smith, Nisa’s trading director, said: “The intention is to give our members a convenient and efficient way to purchase fresh produce, ordered online and delivered to their door, which offer sector-leading prices and a healthy profit margin.”
