FrieslandCampina has switched Yazoo Kids’ packaging from plastic to cardboard carton packaging, as part of its aim to make all of the brand’s packaging recyclable or reusable by 2025.

Commenting on the change, Maren Fuhrich, brand manager at FrieslandCampina, said: “Planet-first products are of ever-increasing importance to consumers and retailers alike. A recent study found that 65% of the population believe that food and nutrition brands need to do more to protect the planet, a number that is only set to grow in the coming years.”

The change comes as the dairy drinks category has grown by 15.3% in value annually, while Yazoo has seen 3% growth.

Fuhrich added: “Coupled with Yazoo Kids’ great nutritionals and our always-popular Minions tie-up, we’re confident the new packaging will be a hit with parents and kids alike.”
