Soreen has announced the return of its Chocolate & Orange Spring Mini Loaves, which are also now vegan.

Available until the end of the Easter weekend, Soreen Chocolate & Orange Spring Mini Loaves contain 50% less sugar and 64% less fat than the average Easter cake bar. The loaves are available in packs of five from Nisa, with an RRP of £1.

The loaves contain no red lights on the nutritional traffic light infographic, and the supplier said the decision to include the graphic on packs in 2017 was to make it easier for parents to make healthier choices.

Healthy Start scheme praised by NFRN

In January, the supplier announced that several of their products were now vegan for 2021.

Liz Jacobs, head of marketing at Soreen, said: “Seasonal flavours are often sought after for the nostalgic, feel-good sentiments they provide, but there are also some good options available this year that hold far better nutritional values than the usual options.

“In the run up to Easter, which is traditionally a time of indulgence, we tend to find that parents are interested in healthier choices for their children. Our Spring Mini Loaves still pack a punch in flavour as we’ve been able to maintain the unique combination of good nutritional credentials alongside delicious taste and texture, as well as being a source of fibre and low in calories than other Easter cake bars.

“Now that can offer a plant-based, vegan version of the Spring Mini Loaves, it means that they can also be enjoyed by children who need to follow a dairy-free diet.”
