Spar has become the first symbol group in the sector to launch an own-label zero sugar cola.

The line will be available in two sizes, 500ml and 2l, RRP 59p and 89p, and it is available in case sizes of 12 and eight respectively.

The symbol group claims it has removed 168 tonnes of sugar from its range in the past two years.

Cath McIlwham, SPAR head of brand, said: “The launches give us the chance to lead the symbol group market in a category that is core to convenience retailers.”
