Coca-Cola European Partners is launching two new Costa Coffee ready-to-drink products to capitalise on growth in the category.
The new Vanilla Latte and Flat White drinks are now available across convenience and wholesale channels.
Vanilla Latte comes in a 250ml can. According to Coca-Cola, vanilla-flavoured RTD coffee has grown by 85% in the past 12 months, and vanilla accounts for six million over-the-counter servings in Costa Coffee retail every year.
Flat White comes in a 200ml can, with 76 calories per serving. Coca-Cola says that Flat White RTD coffee sales have more than quadrupled in the past year.
Both drinks come in 100% recyclable cans, which the supplier says is a growing area of focus for entrants into the RTD market.
Simon Harrison, vice president of commercial development at Coca-Cola European Partners GB, said: “The RTD coffee sector is experiencing over 20% growth in value, as consumers look for pick-me-ups whilst on the go, and increasingly at home as well.
“Within this, Costa Coffee RTD doubled in size in 2020, growing ahead of the segment, and our strategy is to continue driving growth through incementality as more than 50% of Costa Coffee RTD consumers are new to the sector.”
Harrison added that Coca-Cola would be supporting the products with marketing campaigns and sampling activity.
